Off to the Beach

I know it is the rainy season already for my part of the world but since we are beach addicts, my daughter is still requesting if we can hit the beach again, one weekend. If everything turned out as planned, hubby and I will be going for a 3-week vacation without the kids and so hubby and I are thinking to go to one of the beaches in Batangas before we leave.

That is why I am keeping my eyes open for any promos being offered by discount shopping sites so we can get good rates. I am sure there will be tons of offers as it is already the off-peak season because summer is already over.

I am also checking out Nemo Sleeping Bags that we can bring as we are planning on camping or staying overnight. So if you find any good promos, just give me a holler. Thanks in advance.

Hong Kong This December?

Oh no, I just got a text from my cousin and it is about the latest promo from Cebu Pacific. The airfare from Manila to Hong Kong is on sale and is only at P999. Travel period is until December 14 so it will be a perfect pre-holiday getaway for all of us.

My budget is quite tight now as we have to pay a lot of dues from our credit card after our US trip and our monthly amortization for our housing loan and so I am thinking now if I should get a payday loan for this.

I remember the last time I went to Hong Kong with all my cousins was last 2008. We had so much fun as we are all always on the go. We even were able to have a day tour in Macau and visit Macau Tower and the Venetian Hotel.

I will talk to hubby about this so we can avail the promo before tickets run out.

Next Stop: Bicol

After our 3-week US vacation, our next trip will be this coming June 30 to the hometown of my husband in Bicol. It is actually not a vacation per se as we will be there to celebrate the 1st death anniversary of my mother-in-law.

We will be flying via Cebu Pacific on the 30th. It is a 16 hours or more drive from Manila if we will not be flying so I wouldn’t dare subject my kids to that long drive, especially since there are no good roadside assistance in that area (not like the good road assistance that Good Sam is offering) and I am scared and paranoid of the numerous bus accidents there also. Good thing I was able to avail of Cebu Pacific’s promo so I was able to pay for less than P300 only for our airfare.

We will be staying in Bicol until July 2 so we have one whole day on July 1 to explore Bicol again. I might be able to meet up with Diane and her family also, my Bebot friend who is base in Bicol.

My Kind of Vacation

My good friend Peachy just got back from their three-day vacation in Shangri-la Cebu and I can’t help but feel jealous as she was just raving at how much fun they had. They are frequent visitors of this resort and they just love the place as it is family friendly and secluded that you will really have a very relaxing time during your entire stay. Imagine just lounging in your room facing the beach with the sound of the bamboo wind chimes as your back ground or just watching your kids make sand castles while you have a relaxing massage by the beach. This is my kind of vacation. Just look at some of the pictures taken by my friend during their stay:

But aside from the wind chimes and the massage, there are really a lot of things that they want about this resort that keeps them coming back. One is the good service of the hotel staff that you will really feel pampered as they almost do everything for you so all that is left to do is just relax and have fun. Second is that they have great facilities. The hotel is a five-star hotel so the place is really clean and well maintained. Plus they have infinity pool and an indoor play ground and game zone for kids. The food is also great and there are a number of restaurants in the resort that you can choose from for a variety.

We are set to go there this coming March 2011. I know it is still months away but after seeing the pictures of my friend in their recent visit there, I can now hear the sound of their garden bell and I can already imagine myself getting my tan while my kids and my husband enjoys the beach.

Truly Missed

One thing that I want to receive this Christmas is a short vacation. I really miss traveling for it’s been a couple of months since I travelled with my family. As you know, I got pregnant so I wasn’t able to travel since I need to have a rest for safety and health reasons.

I’ve been actually talking to my sister and cousin the other night about the promos of different airlines. We really aim to go back to Hong Kong yearly but that didn’t happen anymore due to my pregnancy, busy schedule and of course, the budget. But next year, hubby and I are planning to have our first travel with our two kids. I’m also hoping that we will have extra budget by that time so I can tag along my parents and perhaps my sister.

Anyway, I’m still happy though because even if we will not be able to push through with that plan, we still have our summer getaway at Cebu and this will sort of serve as our family reunion since everyone will be coming. We are all excited for this and I’m pretty sure that everyone will have a blast.

PAL's Pay Day Treat

This just came in today and so before I search for acne scar creams, let me post this one first as the promo will start at 12 midnight today.

PAL is giving out a Pay Day Treat and is offering low fares for their domestic destinations with an unbelievable price of only P788. Booking period is from October 28 to 29, 2010 for travel from November 4 to December 15 2010 and/or January 10 to March 15 2011.

Oh my gosh I am so tempted to book a flight either to Bohol or Boracay for our 6th year anniversary this coming January. I know I should be saving up for a possible major trip this coming June 2011 but I also would want to have a beach escapade for our anniversary.

So I will try my luck later and if ever I find a flight that is on sale on the date that I like then I will take it as a sign that we are really meant to have a vacation come January. So wish me luck guys.

To HK

I am so itching to go somewhere this December or January to celebrate the holiday season and Hong Kong tops my list. We were at Hong Kong November last year and we just love the weather during that time, it is not too hot or too cold so we wanted to go back when it is still winter in Hong Kong.

Well aside from the fact that I will have a reason to shop for womens boots that I can wear during our stay there, I would love our kids to experience Disneyland during the holiday season as I know that they have special shows, parades and attractions during the Christmas season. This will be a perfect Christmas gift for our kids. It is also the best time to go as B is off from school during that time also.

I guess I better start looking for affordable packages now if I really want to make this plan happen.

Celebrating the Proclamation of our 15th President

Tomorrow will be the inauguration of the 15th President of the Philippines. And to celebrate that important event in our history, Cebu Pacific is having a P15 seat sale.

Booking period for this seat sale starts now until June 30, 2010, which is valid for travel from October 1 to November 30, 2010.

All domestic destinations are up for grabs for the ‘Go Lite’ seat sale fare of P15 while the international destinations are available for the ‘Go Lite’ seat sale fare of P1,500. 150,000 seats are up for grabs for this seat sale so start booking your tickets now.

November is the birthday month of our princess so I am thinking to book a ticket either to Hong Kong or Singapore. I tried checking yesterday for Hong Kong flights but only weekday seats are available and since B is already going to big school, I don’t think this is a good idea. I will try again later and if I find a good date, I guess it is a sign that we are meant to travel again this coming November (but no big birthday party for B).

Cebu Pacific 70% Promo

Philippine Airlines is celebrating their 70th Anniversary and they are having promos on their airfare. And to counter this offer, Cebu Pacific offered a 70% off promo also from April 1-2.

My good friend Kathy alerted us of this promo. I was not tempted at first to book a flight as the travel period is from January – March 2011 but then on the first day of the promo I woke up around 5:30 AM just to check the rate and it was so affordable. The problem is I tried and tried searching and there are no more available seats during weekends and since school is still open during those months, I don’t want B to skip school for two to three days and I have no choice but to say no again for this promo (Yah, I really feel disappointed because the airfare is only P1000 round trip from Manila to Kalibo).

Oh well maybe this promo is really not meant for me. LOL. I hope they will release another promo soon as we really plan to go on an out of town vacation when baby boy is already big enough to travel by plane.

Plans for the Holy Week

Where to go this Holy week? Since Holy week is one of the longest weekends, some of my friends are actually planning for an out of town during this long weekend.

We actually don’t have plans yet for the Holy Week. The oldies in our family said that it is time to stop from our busy schedule and reflect on our lives and just pray and fast as this is a hold day so most of the time we ended up just staying at home and doing some Holy Week traditions like doing the Visita Iglesia, Caridad, watching the 7 last words and the like.

My kumareng Peachy inquired at Shangri-La Hotel in Cebu since this is the best place if you want a quiet and secluded beach because most of the beaches and resorts are jam packed during the holy week. But according to Peachy, there is an additional of P3000 surcharge during the Holy Week because it is peak season. And I am pretty sure that airfare prices will sky rocket too so there is no way that we can afford an out of town vacation next month since we are also planning on doing investment in gold coins so we really need to cut on our expenses so we can pursue this investment option.

Amyways we already have a family outing scheduled for May so we can save another trip at the beach maybe after I give birth.

Juan's Fare Share: 50% Discount from Cebu Pacific

I can’t believe that Cebu Pacific is having another seat sale. Tempting, very, very tempting.

They are offering 50% discount on all their domestic and international destinations for bookings made until tomorrow, February 8, 2010. Travel period is from May 1 – July 31, 2010. To redeem the offer, just select the promo seats and type the word “JUAN” upon checkout. The booking is non-refundable and the 50% discount is not applicable to government taxes and fees.

I tried booking for Manila – Tagbilaran flights and Manila – Hong Kong flights and the airfare is really affordable. But since I am due to give birth on July 2, I don’t think I will be able to travel from May – July and even if I can, I don’t think my OB or the airlines won’t allow me. LOL.

So I have to pass for this promo again and I am sure more promos will be coming soon. Hubby wants to take us to Florida Keys vacation rentals after I give birth but I told him that I don’t want to bring our newborn to long travels that soon. An out of town (like a Bohol vacation) or an Asian trip (like Hong Kong or Singapore) might be something that we can consider for this year so I will just wait for Cebu Pacific promos again and hopefully by the time there is a seat sale on our preferred date, we already have the budget to pay for the airline tickets. LOL.

Cebu Pacific’s 50% Off Promo

Cebu Pacific is having its promo again. They are offering 50% discount for all their domestic and international flights. Booking period starts today until January 8 and travel period is from February 1 to April 30, 2010.

This is a perfect offer since the travel period coincides during the summer months. If only I am not pregnant, I am already ready to pack my Samsonite luggage and I will definitely avail of this promo and book a flight either to Bohol or Cebu or to our favorite Asia destination, Hong Kong. But since we are on a tight budget right now and I am not allowed to travel also because of my sensitive pregnancy, I have to say no to this offer again (Boo-Hoo).

A lot of Cebu Pacific promos have come and go already and I manage to stop myself from doing an impulsive move and book a flight. But if you have the budget, Cebu Pacific promo is something that you should really watch out for. I was reading the blog of my blogger friend Nice and they were able to buy seven round trip tickets to Singapore for only P5000++. It is like, we are just purchasing bus tickets to Baguio. LOL.

But I am sure there will be more promos to come from Cebu Pacific and once I am already ok to travel and once our budget is secured already, I will really not hesitate and I will definitely book a flight.

Planning for our Next Vacation

It is almost the end of the year and in just a few months, when the new fiscal year begins, my husband and I will have a new set of vacation leaves. This means we can go on another vacation and we are really considering Myrtle Beach Resort for our next vacation.

A friend who recently had their vacation at Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Resort highly recommends it. My friend went there with her husband and two kids who is almost the same age as our daughter. My friend said that there is so much that we can do in Myrtle Beach Resorts that a week will not be enough. They have a lot of activities that both adults and kids will enjoy like a visit to the Ripley's Aquarium or Alligator Adventure, which I am sure my daughter will really love. They also have great amenities like kiddie pool, a lazy river and even a golf course.

I checked out the site of Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Resorts and I learned that they are the #1 Family Beach in the US which got me really convinced that this is a perfect vacation spot for families with toddlers like us and for families who enjoyed nothing but the beach, the sand and the sun. Hopefully my husband and I can really save up for this trip.

San Diego Trip?

Hubby has really been convincing me to visit our friend in San Diego next year a few months after I gave birth. Our friend will be celebrating their 5th wedding anniversary and they wish that we can join them as they celebrate their anniversary. They will be having a Mediterranean inspired party and so they will have a San Diego banquet at Trattoria Acqua. Trattoria Acqua is a very romantic restaurant as it has an overlooking view of the La Jolla Cove and Pacific Ocean so it is a perfect venue for an intimate celebration that our friend is planning for their anniversary.

This would be a perfect vacation for us if we will be able to go as we can go around and visit the tourist spots in San Diego also with our friends. Our friend is saying that they are only inviting their close friends and relatives so they are really hoping that we can make it for their anniversary party.

I am about to give birth next year but we promised our friends that we will really try to save up so we can be with them as they celebrate an important event in their life.

Dreaming for a Family Vacation

Since I am bed rest for week, hubby went home one day with the Sex and the City movie DVD so I have something to watch while I stay at home the whole day. My favorite part of the movie is their vacation on Mexico and how I wish we can also go on a Mexico family vacation.

If I did not get pregnant, hubby and I are really planning to go to an out of country vacation again next year. Since we all love the beach, we are really dreaming of going to Azul Sensatori Hotel as we heard that it is really ideal for family vacation. I am sure our daughter will have fun at their splash park and kid’s pool while I and my husband enjoy a beach front massage. Their location is also perfect as it is just twenty minutes away from the airport so there will be no long land travel which is what we really prefer since we are travelling with a toddler.

If not next year, hopefully when our second baby is old enough to travel with us, we will someday try the lovely Azul Sensatori Hotel in Mexico.

To US Next Year?

We just got back from our almost 7-day vacation in Singapore and Malaysia. It was a nice trip, a great bonding time with my family, but my husband said that hopefully we will be able to visit the United States for our next vacation.

One of the reasons why we wanted to go to the US is my hubby’s friend just purchased Metrodome tickets and he is inviting my husband to join him. These tickets are very difficult to get that is why he is convincing my husband to come so they can watch the Metrodome together. They are also both fans of Globetrotters so if we will push through with our US vacation, they might purchase Harlem Globetrotters tickets from ACheapSeat as well. My husband said that watching the Globetrotters is really an entertaining show to watch since they combine sports with comedy and so they wanted us to join them when they watch the basketball exhibition. But knowing me and the wife of my husband’s friend who are really not into sports, we might not be able to enjoy it and so we are looking at Jeff Dunham Tickets as we have long been planning to watch him perform live also.

Looks like we have pretty much have planned our visit in the US for next year. Hopefully, we will be able to save so this trip will really push through.
