It’s the busy holiday season again and my friends from work are planning a Christmas get together. It is nothing extra ordinary really. We don’t have any theme, like the party of one department at work where they have a Victoria Secret’s theme complete with costumes, beauty pageant ribbon, props and more. Our plan is to have a simple dinner where we can just all catch up with each other’s lives.

The only problem is we are having a difficult time booking for the restaurant that we like, which is Vikings. They are fully booked for lunch and dinner for the whole December.

Or maybe we can just purchase one of those vouches for buffet lunch or dinner in hotels like Sofitel and just use it after the holiday season. It would just then be a post holiday get together, but as the cliché goes, it is better late than never.

I am so happy for my friend, who happens to be the Godmother of Jacobo, as he just gave birth to his 2nd child last week.

Her eldest is a girl and so when she told me that they are trying to conceive already, she asked for my advice to help her with the Chinese calendar as they wanted to try to have a baby boy for their second child. I got excited when I heard of their plan that I checked the Chinese calendar right away and gave her dates, as suggested by the calendar, where it is possible to conceive a boy.

And I got really excited after 6 months when she told me the news that the ultrasound confirmed that they are having a baby boy for their second child.

My friend is busy now taking care of her son that she monitors him every now and then using her wireless baby monitor. I am also happy for her because she is trying to breast feed her son also, which I highly encourage her to do.

I haven’t visited her yet but I already extended my congratulations to her and her husband and I am sure they are so filled with so much joy and excitement now. I know, because I have two kids too – 1 boy and 1 girl, and they are my constant source of joy and inspiration.

I have to look for the best diet pills for me but I have to hold my research for now as I have to do a search first on the resort that my group of online friends can go for our summer getaway.

I know it is way too early for summer planning but we learned our lesson last year as we planned just a few months before summer and we were not able to book a good resort as it is difficult to book a room for a group of 30 pax. So as early as now we are coordinating our schedules and we will start inquiring so we can make reservations early.

Here are some of the resorts in our list:

• Fontana in Subic but we are still waiting for the confirmation from Jane, whose uncle is a member in this resort, for the available dates that we can consider.
• Camayan Beach in Subic although we find it too pricey.
• Sofitel. Yeah we are considering Sofitel since they have a resort-like pool less the hassle of long driving since it is just located in the heart of Manila. Plus there are a lot of good restaurants around the area where all the mommies and the daddies can go to while our kids are busy playing in the playground or enjoying the pool.

We have to make reservations soon so we can finally push through with the long overdue MBAP’s summer outing.

Tomorrow would have been the annual Christmas party of my SK friends at our house but unfortunately we have to reschedule it as majority of us won’t be able to make it because of previous engagements.

Too bad as I really wanted to meet up with my SK friends and their kids before Christmas. But at least this will give us more time to prepare our house like clean up for a bit and install lighting fixtures for home and to put up our Christmas tree too so our house will be more presentable as we host the party.

Next weekend will still be a busy week for all of us so I am assuming that this will be a post-Christmas party instead. I do hope that it will still push through though as I really miss them so much as it has been a while since we last saw each other.

As you grow older, you tend to think your life through and sometimes you will really feel that life is short and precious and that you should not waste your time and would rather start doing the things that can make you really happy.

I guess this is what happened to my friend as she just gave up her work to find her true passion, a career in the fashion and beauty industry. She quit her job and enrolled in the beauty course of Regency Beauty Institute, cosmetology school in Phoenix.

Regency Beauty Institute has a good reputation when it comes to beauty schools as they really give their students comprehensive training. Their campuses are well equipped that it is like their students are working in a real high end salons so they really get the best hands-on training. They even have a placement program wherein they help their students find a job in salons, cruise ships and even runways after graduating from the course.

I am really happy for my friend as I know that she finally found the thing that will really make her happy.

Hubby received a very bad news yesterday when he learned that the husband of a close friend died from Mesothelioma cancer. The widow is the former teacher of my husband and my mother-in-law’s colleague. She is also one of our principal sponsors during our wedding.

Hubby will be dropping by later at the funeral to send our condolences and pay our last respect to our friend. I wanted to go with him but nobody will be left behind with our kids.

Every time I hear cancer, it makes me really scared and paranoid as two of my relatives died from cancer. Our children is still small and every parent would want to see their kids grow up, have their own family and succeed in life and so our prayers has always been to keep us healthy so we will be able to fulfil our dreams and watch our kids grow up to be fine individuals.

My good friend from high school will be giving birth this coming December and we want to give her a baby shower. So how do you plan a Baby Shower?

First is we have to decide on the theme of the shower. I searched the Internet and I found a lot of great themes that is perfect for a baby shower. The decorations will then be based on the theme of the shower.

Then we have to make a guest list to determine how many will be invited. The number of guests is really important as this will be the basis for the size of the venue that we need for the party.

We also need to find unique baby shower invitations that we will be sending out to guests at least two to three weeks before the event so the guests will have enough time to fix their schedule.

The food of course is very important so we need to decide also if we will just have the party at a restaurant or have food catering.

To make the party lively, there should be fun games that all the guest can enjoy. The Internet is also the best source of fun baby shower games.

I am so excited already because I know that my good friend will really feel surprise and happy with the baby shower that we will be giving her daughter.

One of my best buddies from college has secretly told me that he is going to propose to his girlfriend of three years soon. Now he is asking for my help to look for engagement rings to give to her girl when he proposes.

I remember suddenly the scene from Sex and the City movie when Mr. Big proposed to Carrie. Mr. Big said that a ring important, because it is the one that seals the deal. He loves his current job and all and he has gain a lot of friends from work already after working here for more than 10 years now. But he feels happier doing his sideline job than his current job. The only thing that is stopping him is that his current job is more stable and during this difficult time of economic crisis, he can’t afford to loose his source of income.

As I mentioned in my previous blog, my group of friends from high school celebrated our anniversary today and we are planning for a grand anniversary celebration. We met up last Friday to talk about our plans.

We have three options to choose from and two out of the three options are activities where we can bring the kiddies. I can’t believe that we are really growing (well, I did not mean to say that we are growing in weight. LOL. But I think after I give birth, I will really need fat burner to help me get back to my pre-pregnancy weight). What I mean is that our group is really growing in number because majority of us are all married and have kids already so mommies like me can’t help but suggests activities where we can enjoy while we can bring our husband’s and kids too.

They haven’t sent the details yet to all the Lynx members so the voting on which option to choose for our anniversary celebration hasn’t started yet. But as early as now, I am excited already and whatever activity wins, I am sure it will be lots of fun because that’s what Lynx are – fun and crazy.

Since we did not had enough when we had Lala’s shower, the Lynx gang decided to organized another dinner-coffee get together last Friday. Too bad I missed it again well for two reasons: first was I have no yaya so nobody will take care of B if I went out and if we bring B along, I am sure hubby will be so tired taking care of B after the dinner so I thought it is not a good idea. Second reason was I still want to take it slow even though my doctor said that my condition is getting better. I still have a week to rest and in less than seven days, I will back to work again so I like to take this opportunity to really have a good rest before going back to the office again. Looks like they had a great time and I really felt sad for missing the get together again.

After seeing the picture, it reminded me of the promise that I made to my friend that I will help her look for a new job in sales.
