Boys Will be Boys

Now that my youngest has just turned 3 years old, he is so active and playful that it is really a must that we put rubber matting in his room to protect him from any injury.

Thankfully, I discovered the website of mad matter inc and saw that they have soft floor matting for play room or kids’ bedroom. I like the world map design of their mat so it will not just be a protective mat for my kids but it will be educational too.

Jacobo has sustained a lot of boo-boos already because boys will be boys, they will always be playful, naught and active. But installing a soft mat in his playroom will at least protect him and might help in avoiding any serious injuries.

For our New Home

I am so happy with the promo that I availed from Deal Amigos. I ordered a shoe rack, which is at 50% off, and it is noted that it will be delivered 10 days after purchasing.

I noted the date in my phone and I was really impressed when I received the items on the exact 10th day that they promised when I purchased the voucher. They have a lot of sale items that I would want to purchase like the 10-piece knife set, the juicer and many more.

We have been collecting new stuff for our new home that is why I have been on the look out for sales ad promos like this. Another site that I love checking out is www.clubchairs.com where I can find nice chairs for our living room.

It has been a year since we moved to our new home and hopefully we can finally put things together soon.

10-Level, 30-Pair Amazing Shoe Rack from Deal Amigos

Hubby is looking at installing quick step laminate flooring for our bedroom as his next project when he receives his monthly bonus and I think this 10-Level, 30-Pair Amazing Shoe Rack is the perfect item to replace the old shoe cabinet that we have so it will match the beauty of the newly installed laminate flooring:

The best thing about this is this is currently being offered at 63% off from Deal Amigos. This is originally valued at P1200 but you can purchase this shoe rack until tomorrow for only P449 only.

This shoe rack is 56.5" H x 10" W x 22.5" L in size and is made of strong metal pipes & plastic parts and connectors. It is also very easy to assemble and disassemble so we can use it right away upon receipt.

I will be purchasing two and the site said that it will be delivered within 10 days upon purchase. This is a very nice and affordable way to organize our shoes.

The Many Uses of Garment Racks

The use of Garment Racks has evolved over time. It was only used before to hang clothes and is placed in stock rooms of department stores but they have found a new use for these boutique clothing racks.

For a business, they use the racks to hang their clothes for display. They can put the new styles at the front of the stores so clients can take immediate notice of it and thus can help generate sales. Most racks are also mobile so staff can easily move the racks around the store for easily arranging the display and the stocks. Racks also comes in nice designs like the vintage racks coupled with Wooden Hangers to create a unique and stunning store display.

For the home, racks can also be use to create additional storage space. You can put it in one corner of a room and store it in the basement or stock rock where you can hang your off-season clothes. This way, you are freeing up space in your closet for clothes that you will wear often. Racks are also a good tool to organize your stuff as you can install it inside a closet to sort and fix your clothes and other accessories.

In Good Hands

Our house in Bulacan has been abandoned for more than a year now. So when hubby visited the house a few weeks ago, hubby got worried that it is beginning to deteriorate since no one is taking care of it.

That is why we decided to hire somebody who can stay in the house and take care of it. And so we were happy as my mom found the perfect person for this. We hired my mom’s former caretaker in the barangay and we are so lucky because after he stayed in the house for only 1 week, he was able to clean up the place and make it look like a real house again. I can’t believe that with just a simple cleaning and adding touches like furniture and bath rug, our house can be a very homey place again.

I am happy that we were able to find a very reliable care taker for our house. At least, even if we can’t get to visit our house every weekend, we have a peace of mind knowing that our house is in good hands.

Waiting for Good News

Wednesday, January 19. It is my birthday and it is also the date when the result for our housing loan application will be released. The appraiser already visited the house that we are buying plus our property in Bulacan and we know that the appraised value for the two properties is enough already so we can loan the amount that we need to purchase the new property that we are eyeing.

I am excited and scared in a way. Excited since finally we will have our own house. No more renting and this will be the house where our kids will grow old. Scared since we did the math and our monthly salary is just adequate to support the basic needs of our family plus the monthly amortization for the house. I don’t even think that we will have a budget to buy new furniture and appliances that is why I am just thinking to have microfiber upholstery fabric for our sofa just to give it a new look that will match the color scheme of our new house.

But my husband and I agreed that it is about time that we buy a house in Manila. We spend a lot of money paying for the rent instead of using it to pay for our own house. So we are just praying hard that we can make this work for our kids.

So wish us luck and hopefully we will get a good news tomorrow.

Looking Forward

As we plan for the renovation of our house, we asked my uncle’s help since he’s an expert when it comes to this because he is an architect. We described to him what we want for our house and the he drew a proposal for the structure and the materials needed.

When I saw the design, I instantly liked it for that’s exactly what I want for our dream house. He provided a space for the Sunrooms Richmond that I’ve been requesting to hubby that’s why I became more excited. I even specified to him that I prefer Doors Richmond or a full glass door, depending on the theme and style of the house.

Ever since I saw the plan, I decided to search further for Home Improvement Richmond because I know that we’ll be able to get the best services here. I am so excited for the renovation but I still have to wait for at least a year since we still have to deal with the budget.

On Security

My mom is the barangay chairman in our area and she was out for three days to attend the leadership conference for all chairmen of District 2. When she returned from the conference, her security officer-in-charge reported that when she was out, a lot of things happened as there are a number of residents who reported stealing and looting.

My husband and I got really worried for the safety of our children. We live just near my mom’s house but there are times that she is also not around to be with my kids while hubby and I is at work so hubby thought of installing one of those home security cameras for added security.

I have live in this village since I was born and this is the first time that I actually heard of such bad things happening around so it really makes me worried and paranoid. If only my husband and I can stay at home and watch over our kids 24x7 but of course we both have to work to put food in our table.

Beautifying our Home

I agree that one way to beautify a home is by installing nice carpet and thanks for sharing this post and information about Carpet Express. We like to install a carpet in our rooms but was quiet hesitant at first because we are aware at how costly carpets can be. But after checking out this site, we became aware that we can definitely get nice carpets at very affordable price.

Comment: This post is very timely as I am currently looking for a store where I can buy window blinds. I am actually choosing between curtains and window blinds but your post really convinced me of the many benefits of getting window blinds. I checked out blindsaver.com and I am happy with their wide range of choices for blinds. They even offer 25% discount, free shipping and additional 5% discount just by using the coupon codes so I am really convince that window blinds is the way to go.

2nd Project

We will be getting a second nanny for our baby boy and this means that we have to do some renovation of our maid’s quarter so there will be enough space for the two nannies in that small room.

Hubby is planning to buy Minka Aire ceiling fan to replace the desk fan to save more space. We will also be buying a double deck bed so at least they will be more comfortable if they have their own bed and they don’t have to sleep beside each other.

Hubby will be returning home next Wednesday so hopefully we can start with this project when he arrives as the new nanny is just waiting for our go signal and she is ready to arrive anytime.

Hubby's Small Project

The rainy months are almost here and so hubby wants to start another project to prepare for the rainy season. Hubby is now looking at replacing the roofing of our house as most of the sheets are broken already that rain will surely get in our house once it started to rain.

He heard a lot of good things about Ondura’s roofing and hubby is really convinced that we will definitely buy our roofing materials from them. Their roofing materials are so easy to install, is stylish, is very easy to maintain and is so durable that it will surely last longer. They are so confident of the quality of their products that they are even offering lifetime warranty on their roofing materials.

Good thing it is a non-working holiday tomorrow so hubby can start working on this small project of his so it will be finish before the rainy months.

Making Progress

I am so happy because it has been a productive weekend for us. Though hubby was not able to work on his little project for our room renovation last Saturday and Sunday since we have errands and appointments, he was able to make it up last Monday.

It is his holiday from work because it is Memorial Day and so he woke up early to start cleaning our second room where we will be moving. When he is done packing some of our stuffs there, he went to our house in Bulacan together with my dad and two helpers to bring our things there and do a major clean up too of our house there.

Hubby was really happy with their accomplishments as they were able to dispose old cabinets, old beds, remove old curtains, change the lock of the doors, and do a major clean up of the house. Now we just have to buy a new bed and mattress for one of the rooms there so we have a place to sleep if we want to spend our weekends there.

They reached Manila round 6 Pm and hubby just ate snack and went to SM with my mom and B to buy a new aircon for our new room. The aircon will be delivered tomorrow but my dad already fixed the brace on where the aircon will be installed.

Finally, hubby is making progress. I can’t wait to see our stuff move into the second room which is much bigger than the room that we are occupying now.

How to Maintain Buffalo Grass

Buffalo grass is a popular turf grass used widely for lawns, especially in warm dry climates. This grass is native to the dry plains of the Midwest and southwest. In fact, it is the only turf grass widely used that is native to the North American continent. Fossils found in Kansas have revealed that species of this grass have been around for more than 7 million years. That is a long time for grass to survive. No wonder it has become so popular for commercial and private landscaping.

This type of grass is so popular because it takes very little maintenance. You might be surprised to find out that the greatest threat to the well-being of your buffalo lawn is over maintenance. You don't want to take care of your lawn too well, or you might end of damaging it! If your lawn is established, you will want to fertilize it maybe twice during the summer months with a nitrogen-based fertilizer. You won't have to worry about constantly fertilizing your lawn.

In order to irrigate or water your lawn, you will want to be aware that this kind of grass is extremely drought resistant and does well in dry climates. If it goes for an extended amount of time without water, it will go dormant until it receives moisture again. Going dormant will cause the grass to lose its color, however, so in order to keep your grass as green as can be, water it regularly. Don't overwater, though, because giving your lawn too much water will create weed competition and can even make the grass more prone to disease. This grass also does better in full sunny areas, although it will still establish itself well in areas that receive at least 6 to 8 hours of sunlight every day.

Manufactured Homes Industry

I was listening to the news the other night and I heard another issue being fired against one of the presidential candidates running for this May elections. The candidate is a real estate developer and the owners of homes are claiming that the low cost housing that they purchased from the real estate company of the candidate was all of low standards. Most of the house owners didn’t even tried living in the house as it is really of low quality and they just didn’t pay their loan from the bank.

If only we have Manufactured Homes Indiana here then substandard housing projects would have been avoided. With Mobile Homes Indiana, the homes are all built in the factory following a building code administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development so all homes are constructed to be of high quality since it follows and adheres to the building code.

One thing that is nice about Mobile Homes in Indiana is that they offer different floor plans and they even put in their plans the design preference of the buyer. If we have this technology here, then houses constructed for our low cost housing projects would have incorporated the preferences of the future house owners that meet that standard so low quality houses would have definitely been avoided and the house owners will definitely be happy with the quality of houses that they will live in to.

Our country is really way far behind from the technology that cities like Indiana are using when it comes to manufactured home industry. How I wish that for this coming elections, we will vote wisely so we will elect a president who can bring our country to glory. Even not in the next six years but at least a glimpse of hope that maybe we can still rise to the challenge in the not so distant future.

My Idea

I haven’t discussed this with hubby yet as he is away (but I plan to discuss this with him when he return from his assignment next week), but I was thinking about a solution to resolve our dilemma on whether to renovate our house in Bulacan or purchase a new house here in Manila.

You see, hubby and I have been thinking if we will proceed with our plan to get a new housing loan to finance the renovation of our house in Bulacan. The problem is, Bulacan is quite far from the city which is where our kids will be studying. So we are thinking if we just buy a smaller house in Manila instead where it is close to the schools that we are considering for our kids.

But I got an idea this morning:

• Since our house in Bulacan only needs renovations (like changing of the kitchen sinks to Franke sinks, replacing the ceiling, the wood frame in the bedrooms, etc) then we don’t need that big amount of money to finance the renovation. The house there is just bungalow style with three rooms but I think it is big already for the size of our family so we don’t need to demolish it completely and build a house of our dreams from scratch. We can just repair some parts of the house to make it look nice so we can make it as our weekend house.
• Then we can get a loan then to buy a much smaller house here in Manila which will be closer to the schools where our kids will be studying.

Actually I am excited about this idea. I know how much hubby wants to live in the suburbs but I know he also doesn’t want his kids to have a hard time commuting to and from school everyday because it will be stressful for them. At least with this setup, we can go home to our house in Bulacan during weekends so hubby can relax and rest after a very tiring week at work.

Let us see what he gets to say with my idea when he comes back.

Spring Cleaning

There is no winter in my part of the world but a friend of mine who lives abroad is very busy as winter is almost over and it is time for their spring cleaning. It is the time of the year where they do most house renovation projects such as gutter replacement, roof repairs, and the like and major house cleaning and organization.

Since their gutter fell off when the water freezes during the winter season, they decided that it is really time to get Gutters Virginia Beach to install the LeafGuard gutter system in their home. They figured that investing in good quality gutter system will really protect their homes.

The LeafGuard gutter is so efficient that only water goes through the gutter and all the dirt and leaves gets shed off. Their product is so good that they offer a lifetime warranty to all their products and it even has the Good House keeping seal. They even have an on-going Spring promo right now where they will give 50% discount to their customers on labor so my friend already contacted Gutters Norfolk as the offer is only valid until April 1, 2010.

My friend can’t wait for their gutter to be finally fixed as she knows that it is a wise investment because it will really help protect their house.

For Our Soon Dream House

Five years ago, we purchased a house and lot which is owned by a relative. The price was a steal and so hubby and I thought to grab the opportunity and purchase the house.

The house is in very good condition when we bought it. It is also made of durable and high quality materials and so all we need to do is a little renovation and remodeling to incorporate the style that we want for our dream house.

Our housing loan which we used to purchase the lot will soon be finish in just a few months and so hubby is thinking to get another loan for the renovation of the house. We visited the house last weekend to check its condition and hubby was a bit disappointed as he noticed that there has been damages in the furniture and flooring. So hubby made sure that Window tinting Richmond is part of the budget when we do the renovation of our house. It will not only create a nice effect to our windows but at the same time, it will provide good protection too for our furniture and flooring.

I know hubby is really excited to finally put his project for our dream house into reality. But he doesn’t have to wait that long as in just a few months, we can start with the renovation of our soon dream house.
