My best friend will be celebrating her birthday this month and up to now, I still have no idea what to give her on her special day. Luckily, I received an email from Artscow which gives me an idea on what to give my best friend.

Since she just gave birth, I thought of having their family picture printed in canvass print. Artscow metropolitan canvas print uses true color printing skills and is ideal to convert photos or portraits into artworks.

And for a limited time only, Artscow is having a promo for their 4x4 metropolitan canvass print. From its original price of $12.99, they are now offering it for only $3.99 with free shipping. Just enter the coupon code: 4X4CANVAS399 under you’re account. This code will expire on July 31, 2009.

So if you like to transform your pictures into works of art, you better hurry since this is a limited promotion and only the first 200 orders per day will be accepted at the offer price.

Using Skype with Ipod Touch

Have you tried installing Skype on your Iphone? I just did as I am planning to use this during our trip so I can easily make a Skype call to my daughter for free while we are away.

But did you know that you can use the Skype application even on second generation Ipod touch? Yes, you heard it right. You just need a Wi-Fi Connection to install the application, then you need a Wi-Fi connection again to log in to Skype network and all you need is just a head set with a built in microphone to make a call to other Skype users. How cool is that?

I think I have only used Skype once only because I always use Yahoo Messenger. But my friend who always uses PC to PC calls said that the quality of the video and audio is better with Skype. And since I will just be using my Iphone most of the time during our trip, I think this Skype application will be my most used Iphone application.

Sony Walkman Turns 30

Nowadays, you can carry with you hundreds and even thousand of music that you play using those cute music players like the Apple Ipod. But during my time, this music world has been well dominated by Sony’s Walkman. And next month, Sony Walkman will be turning 30.

I can still remember, I have been really begging my parents to buy me a Sony Walkman as it was a status symbol during my time. Would you imagine that when it was first release, it costs around $200 (yes it was really that expensive and during those times $200 is a big amount of money already.) That is why I was so happy when finally, my dad granted my wish and bought me one when he returned from his work abroad.

It has been my travel companion (along with the dozens of tapes that I listen to. LOL.) I also use it to record those voice tapes that we send to my dad when he was working abroad. Indeed the Sony Walkman was my number one gadget during that time. And did you know that Sony Walkman tops the list of Top 50 Gadgets of the past 50 years. Cool.

To Sony Walkman, happy anniversary and you are one of the reasons why I enjoyed my teenage life and for that my warmest thank you!!

RUN FOR HOME

A few years back, our company had a team building exercise where we joined Habitat for Humanity in one of their projects. I was hesitant at first to join as I am sure that it will be one long and tiring day as we will be building houses (aka manual labor). But hubby convinced me to participate and I was really glad I did because it was one rewarding experience. Imagine, I was able to build a home that they will be donating for one of the homeless Filipino family.

So when I learned about RUN FOR HOME, a project of Globe-Ayala Land City Run for Habitat For Humanity to help build homes through Habitat for Humanity for the benefit of Kapit Bisig Para sa Ilog Pasig Project, I said that I should help promote it and I will really try to join to help Habitat for Humanity again.

The Run for Home event will be on July 19, 2009 to be held at Bonifacio Global City. Registration will be from June 19 to July 3, 2009. You can choose from 3K, 5K, 10K and 21K races. And for Globe subscribers, you can join the vent for as low as P300.

So join now and I assure you that it will be one rewarding experience.
