No Sun, All Rain

It’s the time of the year again when we can finally bid goodbye to the hot summer. But how I wish I live in a city where I can wear womens boots to gear up for the cold weather because in my part of the world, after summer comes the typhoon season.

We actually have one typhoon now and is affecting the western part of the country. PAGASA was saying that there is no storm signal raise in Manila but it has been raining the whole day and there was heavy downpour late in the afternoon that is why streets are all flooded on our way home.

My dad fetched me from work, as he knows that I will have a hard time going home with this weather if he does not fetch me but we were caught in traffic and got stuck in flooded streets. B was actually crying already as she saw the gloomy surrounding: there was zero visibility because of the heavy rain and we were surrounded by water because of flood. What normally took us only 1 hour of commute to and from home took us 4.5 hours because of the heavy traffic.

The rain has stopped already and hopefully we will finally see Mr. Sun tomorrow.

Spell June: B-I-R-T-H-D-A-Y-S

June is the month where majority of my family members are celebrating their birthday:

June 10: My sister Vj
June 19: My cousin Aliah
June 21: My brother Jp and Jacobo
June 30: My grand mother, Lydia

We just had a small party at my grand mother’s house yesterday to celebrate the birthday of my cousin, and tomorrow we are having a party again to celebrate the birthday of my brother and my son. (This reminds me that I should wrap the xbox and xbox 360 hdmi cable that I bought online as our gift to my brother). My aunt for sure will cook something for the occasion and I will just order cake for my brother and my son.

After tomorrow, the next celebration will be grandest as it is the birthday of our favorite grand mother (who all took care of us when we were kids), my Nanay Lydia.

Miley Cyrus Live in Manila

The famous teen singer Miley Cyrus just had a concert here in Manila last week and I was so surprised at how much fan she has. Well according to the news, she has a lot of fans that if they are a country, they will be the second country with the largest population.

My cousin is a fan of Miley and she would have wanted to watch her perform live. Unfortunately, the ticket is so expensive (I think VIP seats starts at P7,000) and if we buy the general admission seats, we might need to bring marine binoculars as it will be too far already from the stage.

Gosh, I don’t know why ticket prices for concert nowadays are this expensive. I remember when we watched the John Mayer concert, we paid around P3,000 per ticket and it was not even close to the stage. Plus the venue most of the time is at MOA concert grounds which is an open field and is not safe from the rain (which is what happened during the John Mayer concert).

But I am glad my cousin just got contented in watching Miley’s video in You Tube as there is really no way we can afford to buy her a ticket for the concert. LOL.

50% off at Boracay Sands Hotel

Who says Boracay is only for summer when great seals like this are available?

50% off at Boracay Sands Hotel

You only get to pay P6000 instead of P12,000 for three days and two nights stay in Boracay Sands Hotel for two and it even comes with daily breakfast. This voucher is valid until September 15, 2011.

I actually have been to Boracay during the lean season and I like it better compared to the crowded summer months. If we will not be going to Cebu this coming August, I might consider this offer as it has been more than three years since I last step my foot in Boracay.

But my Twitter friends are planning a Bora trip next year (and hopefully we can afford to stay in Shangri-La) so maybe I should just wait for that.

Next Stop: Bicol

After our 3-week US vacation, our next trip will be this coming June 30 to the hometown of my husband in Bicol. It is actually not a vacation per se as we will be there to celebrate the 1st death anniversary of my mother-in-law.

We will be flying via Cebu Pacific on the 30th. It is a 16 hours or more drive from Manila if we will not be flying so I wouldn’t dare subject my kids to that long drive, especially since there are no good roadside assistance in that area (not like the good road assistance that Good Sam is offering) and I am scared and paranoid of the numerous bus accidents there also. Good thing I was able to avail of Cebu Pacific’s promo so I was able to pay for less than P300 only for our airfare.

We will be staying in Bicol until July 2 so we have one whole day on July 1 to explore Bicol again. I might be able to meet up with Diane and her family also, my Bebot friend who is base in Bicol.

And so I got really excited when I read this promo from Star Cruises (though it is actually a bad timing since we just got back from our US vacation so we are still recuperating from the expenses that we incurred while we are in the US. But at least this is a good sign that they are starting to give out promos like this):

Link Between Topamax & Cleft Lip

Topamax is known as a substance that may be use as an anti convulsant to help remedy epileptic individuals. It is usually use to reduce pain from extreme cases of headaches such as migraine. But did you know that expecting mothers are presented with a threat if they take Topamax to cure either epileptic convulsions or migraine? Numerous studies have recently been completed that shows the relationship of Topamax with labor and birth problems, for example cleft lip or cleft palate. The problem can be a tiny, notched lip or in really painful situations, could cause a wide open groove from the roof of the mouth to the nostril.

Numerous studies have proven this fact and because of this, legal professionals from O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath law agency offers their particular service to aid mothers and fathers with children which has been a prey of Topamax to file for a Topamax lawsuit.

Allow us to admit it, submitting a product or service responsibility claim is not easy therefore we'd like specialist assistance to triumph the case and acquire damages claims. For this reason affected individuals really should seek out the help of legal professionals connected with O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath - Personal Injury Lawyers - 808 West Avenue, Austin, TX. 78701 - 512-494-9949 because they know the ins and outs when it comes to this type of cases.

January Wedding

My cousin will be getting married this coming January. Everybody is so excited as this is the first wedding in our family after my wedding six years ago. I think the couple are now busy preparing for their wedding:

- they started to look for a reception venue already
- they already booked their church venue
- they already checked out portfolios of raleigh wedding photographers
- they are now looking for their couturier
- they already talk to our cousin who is an event stylist to dress up the venue

My cousin and I will be helping them in the wedding preparation as the couple knows how addicted we are to wedding preparations and we know where to get good deals from wedding suppliers.

Their wedding is just a few months away and I know time moves fast so we really need to start working so we can give the couple the wedding of their dreams.

2-Hour scuba Diving Intro Lesson from Scuba World

My hubby has long wanted to try scuba diving but classes can be so expensive so being the responsible father that he is, he will set aside his desire to learn how to scuba dive in exchange for the needs of his family.

So I got really excited when I saw this promo online: For only P997, hubby can get a 2-Hour Scuba-Diving Introductory Lesson conducted by a PADI-Certified Instructor at Scuba World Greenhills. This is valued at P2,500 so you can get instant 60% off.

This lesson will teach the basic know-how in scuba diving and safety skills to boost confidence underwater. I am sure my husband would love to try this 2-Hour course so he can get to experience and try how scuba diving is and when we have extra budget already, then that is the time he can enrol to the full scuba diving class.
