Another Party to Plan

It’s been almost 2 months already since we last moved here in our newly bought house. To be honest, hubby and I haven’t planned for a house warming yet since we’ve been so busy for the past months and it took us at least a month to move all our things and do some general cleaning.

But then again, just last night, hubby suddenly mentioned that he wants to have the house warming before Christmas or before the year ends so we can have good vibes and great start for the year 2012.

And since party planning excites me, I immediately made plans first thing in the morning. I called our regular caterers to check their schedule availability and of course their menu. I still don’t have the exact date though but I’m hoping that we will be able to push this through before Bela’s birthday.

I’m really excited and I’m already making a list for the programs and the so called “godparents or sponsors”. I’ve been teasing my sister already that I want matouk bed linens since I’ve been drooling for that even before because of its quality.

Anyway, I can now feel that this will be another busy week for me since I have a house warming party to organize.

Moving On

I am the type of person who rarely brings cash as I always use my credit cards for all my purchases. That is why when my HSBC card got hacked, I got really pissed and scared at the same time because this only means that there is really a security hole that hackers can always attack.

It took HSBC 8 months before they were finally able to settle my issue. I have to call them everyday to follow up and there even came a point that I gave up on them already and stop following up and I just let them handle it. I was surprised one day when I got a call from HSBC to inform me that they already reversed all the charges including the finance charge and late charge. I never really expected that it would get resolve as I never saw a real interest and effort on their part to resolve the issue.

But I am thankful that my nightmare with them is already over. I will just ask my sister to settle the balance for her extension card and it is time for me to say goodbye to HSBC. But like what I mentioned, I am very much dependent on credit cards so I have to look for a new credit card company that I can apply to so I can say goodbye to HSBC and move on from this nightmare.

Congrats

I am so happy for my friend, who happens to be the Godmother of Jacobo, as he just gave birth to his 2nd child last week.

Her eldest is a girl and so when she told me that they are trying to conceive already, she asked for my advice to help her with the Chinese calendar as they wanted to try to have a baby boy for their second child. I got excited when I heard of their plan that I checked the Chinese calendar right away and gave her dates, as suggested by the calendar, where it is possible to conceive a boy.

And I got really excited after 6 months when she told me the news that the ultrasound confirmed that they are having a baby boy for their second child.

My friend is busy now taking care of her son that she monitors him every now and then using her wireless baby monitor. I am also happy for her because she is trying to breast feed her son also, which I highly encourage her to do.

I haven’t visited her yet but I already extended my congratulations to her and her husband and I am sure they are so filled with so much joy and excitement now. I know, because I have two kids too – 1 boy and 1 girl, and they are my constant source of joy and inspiration.

Lechon Party

I don’t think even the best appetite suppressants could have stopped me from eating yesterday. LOL. We had a party at the house of our boss to celebrate the end of the posting season (a busy season for us) and he treated us with a feast starting with spring rolls, vegetable platter and nachos with dip for appetizer, then Cebu’s lechon, chicken adobo, pansit, kilawin for the main course and cakes and fresh fruit for desserts.

The Lechon was so delicious that all of us were quiet while we eat. LOL. I had lechon and rice plus pansit so it was total carbo overload. Then I tried the caramel cake, the carrot cake, the blue berry muffin and fresh fruits for deserts.

I was so full that I did not have room left for dinner that I just skipped dinner and when to bed when I reached room. The boss said that we will have a lot of get togethers like that and we are all looking forward to it.
