Taking Risks

One thing is for sure, I can’t hold on to my job forever. Eventually, I will no longer be capable of going to the office and work for I will be old by then. And so, this made me realize that I can’t rely on my job alone. I need to do and consider other options like investing into business or even gold.

And so, I talked to my hubby about this. Aside from the real estate that we invested for five years, he thought of something different that can be of great help for the future of our family. He wants to buy gold eagle coins for this can be an affordable yet in good quality and its value doesn’t depreciate.

I know that this can really be a good start for us with regards to gold investments and I know that hubby is an expert when it comes to this things so I’m giving my full trust to him.

She'll Take Over For Now

I am supposed to be in bed now having a good night sleep because we have a flight to Bicol at 6:55 for my mother-in-laws “30 days” so I have to be up by 3am to prepare. But then, I still need to finish my pending works and I have to finalize the list of things for my sister to do for Bela’s school.

B will be absent for her Friday and Saturday classes. We actually have a meeting on Saturday to discuss about the Hong Kong trip of their Ballet class and I won’t be able to attend so I asked a favor from my sister if she can come instead. Good thing that she agreed so I won’t have any problem at all.

I am very thankful to my sister for doing this to me and to Bela. Aside from dropping and fetching Bela to school everyday, she’s also willing to do other important things for B. So sis, I really owe you one.

Our Sunday

We were out yesterday as it has been a regular thing for us now to hear our Sunday mass in the church where hubby’s brother is the presiding priest who will officiate the mass. We left around 1 PM for the 2 PM mass at SM Megamall. We thought that there will be no traffic and we can make it there before 2 PM since it is a Sunday anyways but we were wrong.

There was a heavy downpour on our way there that streets are flooded and there was a heavy traffic already. When we reached SM Megamall, the entrance to the parking lot was jam-packed and there was no available parking space. Even the Valet Parking is full also. We waited and waited and we went around the building with the hope that we will find a vacant parking space but to no avail. We spend a good one hour looking for a parking slot and all our efforts were put to waste since we did not make it to my brother-in-law’s mass. This made me wish that we are just at home sitting in front of our electric fireplace enjoying my hot cup of chocolate drink while I snuggle with hubby and my two kids on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

After an hour of going around in circles, we decided that there is no way that we will be able to park our car to meet with hubby’s siblings so we just decided to go somewhere else. But after an hour, the rain stopped and hubby decided that we go back to SM Megamall since his siblings and their family is still there waiting for us. We got lucky this time and we were able to find a parking slot in the open parking area near Podium.

After we parked our car, we met up with hubby’s siblings and spend a great evening with them as we had dinner at Pizza Hut.

We Love Gold

Hubby is waiting for something big to happen at work anytime next week and if everything goes well for his favor, we plan to make another investment and buy gold bullion.

Hubby and I always loves to try new investment options as we always want to make sure that we have a fall back in case anything happens so we will be sure that our kids future will be secured. We have been doing some readings about gold investment from the website of United States Gold Bureau and we got really convinced that gold is really a good investment.

Why? It is because gold is a very tangible asset that doesn’t depreciate in time. It is also universally accepted so it can be easily sold and converted to cash. It is also very easy to store that you can keep it in a safety deposit box at home or can be deposited in bank.

Hubby and I will soon be talking with the hard assets professionals of United States Gold Bureau who have the experience and the expertise about precious metals so they can start helping us on how to make our initial gold investment.

Saturday 9: The Sun Rising

1. When was the last time that you watched a sunrise? Who were you with? I really can’t remember when because it has been a long time already but I know that I am with B, hubby and my parents.

2. If President Obama promised he'd do one thing you asked, what would you ask him to do? Increase my salary and give monthly bonuses. LOL.

3. What is one experience that has strengthened your character the most so far? When we lost everything. I learned that if we will just learn to stand up again and persevere and put God at the center of our life, then there is nothing that I can’t do.

4. What is the first thing that you usually do after completing Saturday 9? Post the link to my post on Saturday 9’s website.

5. Tell us about someone either in your life or in the blogosphere that you think is extremely funny. My daughter B as she has a lot of antics that really makes us go crazy laughing.

6. Where was the last bed that you slept in that was not your own? At Pan pacific hotel a few weeks ago when we had to check in to a hotel because there was no power at home and we know the kids can’t survive the night without air-conditioning unit.

7. Have you ever been too drunk to remember anything? Nope.

8. Have you ever licked something to clean it? I think so.

9. Who, outside of family or a S/O, has influenced your life the most? My online friends

Pictures, Pictures & more Pictures

Our digital cameras have been put to good use the past months as hubby has been using it to take pictures of our precious Jacobo. Since his day one at the operating room, hubby took thousand of pictures already of him and it has only been a month. I wonder how many DVDs containing his pictures we will collect as he turns one.

But I hope all those pictures will not just be saved in our PC or DVD. With B, I was able to digi-scrap her pictures but only up to her tenth month and then I stopped after that. I was only to do an album of her first birthday and her second to fourth birthday is still sitting in our PC and I am still waiting for a free time where I can sit down and start digi-scrapping again.

Now with Jacobo, we are starting to collect thousands and thousand of his pictures again and I better start soon in digi-scrapping his pictures before I get lazy again.

Fight for your Right

Don’t you hate it every time your Inbox gets filled with spam emails from marketing companies promoting their own product? But wouldn’t you be more furious if you find out that those companies sending emails got your contact information illegally from a credit reporting company.

Well this happened sometime between 1987 and 2000 when TransUnion, a credit reporting company illegally sold credit information to marketing companies in the United States. This act of TransUnion is very unethical and is illegal and their victims have the right to claim monetary damage from them.

At least TransUnion kind of straighten out their wrong doing by setting up a $75 million fund to settle claims to their victims. So if you or anyone you know applied for credit between 1987 and 2000, there is a big possibility that your credit information have been sold by TransUnion and you can file a TransUnion Class Action Lawsuit with the help of O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath law firm. They have highly trained staffed which can really help you in getting your TransUnion claims.

Every time my husband goes online, he does nothing but search for a site where he can get his sports memorabilia. Often times, after spending hours on the net, he will still end up empty handed as most of the items that he found are really so expensive and is way over his budget. Thanks for sharing the site of Hollywood Collectibles Inc so now my husband can complete his collection of his sports memorabilia without hurting his pocket.

Beautifying our Home

I agree that one way to beautify a home is by installing nice carpet and thanks for sharing this post and information about Carpet Express. We like to install a carpet in our rooms but was quiet hesitant at first because we are aware at how costly carpets can be. But after checking out this site, we became aware that we can definitely get nice carpets at very affordable price.

On Auctions

This post is so timely as my friend is looking for an auction site where he can join military auctions. I think Affiliated Auctions is really the best site for my friend to sell his stuff as they have the experience in buying and selling not just military stuff but other items as well like coins, jewelry or any other items that you can think of. So I am sure that he will sell his stuff soon with the help of Affiliated Auctions

For A Clean Home

A few months back, my daughter got sick and it was diagnosed that she got infected by contaminated water. That is why I really agree with your post that there are really a lot of bacteria out there that is really dangerous for our health especially for the health of our kids. Thanks to your post about Immunolytics as I was able to learn a lot about molds and on how to prevent them. I will definitely get those mold test kits to have my homes tested to be sure that my kids are living in a clean environment.

Me

I am no longer taking prenatal vitamins but it is as if I am still pregnant with the way I eat. LOL. When I had my check up a few weeks ago after I gave birth, my weight is already down to 129 pounds from 141 pounds. I was really glad after learning that I only have 19 more pounds left to loose but now I am scared to know my weight because I fear that instead of loosing weight, I might have gain additional pounds.

But how can you say no when my mom is always preparing delicious meals from breakfast, snacks, lunch and dinner that I end up eating 5 to 6 times a day. But I need all the energy since it has been sleepless nights for me ever since we reached home from the hospital to take care of Jacobo and then I have to wake up early too to prepare my daughter for school.

Oh well, I guess I have to let go of my wish to go back to my pre-pregnancy weight anytime soon.

Paper Work

Before I go on maternity leave, our Personnel Officer gave me a number of blank forms that I need to accomplish for Jacobo like Philhealth, SSS, and Maxicare forms. I need to submit these documents as soon as possible so I can add my son as my beneficiary for Philhealth, SSS and Maxicare.

Hubby and I got busy after we were discharged from the hospital but I really need to sit down and accomplish all the forms, send for copying using Xerox phaser 8560 all the supplementary documents like the birth certificate, and submit these forms so my office can start processing it already.

Things have really been crazy during the past three weeks. But we really need to get our act together and start picking up the pieces again so we can start organizing our life back. I guess accomplishing these paper works would be a good starting point.

Frupcakes

Looks like I will need diets for quick weight loss after Jacobo’s baptism because I just discovered Frupcakes.

Quoting from their website:

“Simply put in an equation Frupcakes=Fr(uit)+(C)upcakes

Each Frupcake provides a unique, fruity and fresh twist to basic cupcake flavors. Frupcakes cupcakes are homemade with the best-est, freshest ingredients of the highest quality ever

Frupcakes get that special kick from real fruit chunks which are generously incorporated into each Frupcake, not from artificial flavorings added to the icing! “

I will be getting them for the baptism cake of Jacobo and I will order 100 to 150 pieces Frupcakes for the guests and for us to enjoy. Based from the feedbacks, their cupcakes are really yummy so I am sure I will eat not one, not two but maybe dozens of Frupcakes. LOL. I guess I will just have to start on my diet after Jacobo’s baptism so I will not feel guilty devouring on this delicious cupcakes.

Party Planning Mode

How do you deal with adult acne? I think I will have to face acne problems soon as I am so stressed out right now as I am starting to plan for three parties:

1. Jacobo’s Christening
2. B’s 5th Birthday
3. Jacobo’s first birthday

We will be having the baptism next month and so I have to start with the preparations. I already inquired with cake suppliers and have pencil booked August 22 already. I also found a souvenir supplier already and I am just waiting for hubby’s approval before I order the souvenirs. I also inquired with Jade Palace restaurant and they are still open on the date that I am targeting. Now I just have to wait for hubby’s brother, who is a priest, as he will take care in booking Archbishop’s Palace for the baptism ceremony.

I haven’t started on B’s birthday preparations as I only wanted a simple party for his fifth birthday but the grand parents and the aunties are pressuring me already to start preparing for B’s party because they are concerned that B is overly jealous already and is still adjusting with the coming of her baby brother. And so I really need to give her a party so she will not feel left behind with all the party preparations that I am doing for Jacobo. And so last week, I booked Arnold the magician for her party on November 20 and hopefully I will be able to drop by at Shakey’s Malate to book for their party package.

As per Jacobo’s first birthday, I already short listed the venue and I already spoke with my friend Mich for possible sponsorship at Valle Verde 6. I also checked North Greenhills clubhouse and they don’t require sponsors and they are still available on the date that I am targeting. Hopefully I can go out next week to check the two venues so I can book it already together with the magician that I want to book for the party.

Wooh, I don’t know how I will manage to survive planning for these parties.

Di Caprio to Visit PH

Before I look for insurance quotes, let me post this news first about Leonaro Di Caprio visiting the Philippines.

Leonardo confirmed through his Hollywood agents and publicists that he will be coming to the Philippines. It was earlier reported that Di Caprio will be arriving early 2011 but as it turned out, he will be arriving earlier than expected.

He will be here not to promote his movie Inception, but he has been invited by Joyce Ramirez, director for International Publicity at PR Asis Worldwide to promote an environmental-awareness project and to promote tourism industry in Albay.

Di Caprio will be staying in Misibis Bay, an ultra-luxurious resort in Albay for a week so it is still not sure if he will drop by in Manila.

This will be a definite boost in the Philippines’ tourism industry. My husband is from Bicol and I never heard of this ultra luxirous resort until I read this news.

19 more pounds. That is how much I need to loose before I can go back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I visited my OB a few days ago and I was really excited to hit the weighing scale to see how much weight I loose already after giving birth only to find out I still have close to 20 pounds to loose. LOL.

diet pills
exercise
starve myself (LOL. But this is not an option as I need all the nutrients that I can get from the food that I eat because I am breastfeeding).

But since I am not getting enough sleep lately to take care of baby boy, I am hoping that it will help me loose weight fast (at least before baby boy’s Christening which we plan to have in August). And I heard breastfeeding helps too.

I will visit my OB again in a month and let us see how much weight I will loose in a month’s time so wish me luck.

The Best

If before I need over the counter sleep aids to get a good night sleep, now that baby boy is already here, I need something to help me stay up all night. LOL.

I promised that I will really try harder this time to succeed in breastfeeding and so I have been breastfeeding our dear baby boy even at night. And since he feeds almost every hour, this means I am awake almost every hour too.

But my baby boy is such a very good boy because he never cries unless he is hungry. If his tummy is full, he just plays quietly in his crib or he just snuggled quietly and comfortably in his co-sleeper.

Baby boy is thirteen days old now and looks like he gained a lot of weight already. We will be visiting his pediatrician on the 21st of July and we will see how much weight he has gained. Now I know that breastfeeding is really the best milk for babies and I am glad that I really worked harder this time to give my baby boy nothing but the best.

2nd Project

We will be getting a second nanny for our baby boy and this means that we have to do some renovation of our maid’s quarter so there will be enough space for the two nannies in that small room.

Hubby is planning to buy Minka Aire ceiling fan to replace the desk fan to save more space. We will also be buying a double deck bed so at least they will be more comfortable if they have their own bed and they don’t have to sleep beside each other.

Hubby will be returning home next Wednesday so hopefully we can start with this project when he arrives as the new nanny is just waiting for our go signal and she is ready to arrive anytime.
